kareena kapoor khan, ameesha patel, hrithik roshan, kaho naa...pyaar hai,

Kareena Kapoor left the film Kaho Naa…Pyaar Hai felt that Rakesh Roshan was more focused on his son, Hrithik Roshan also starring Ameesha Patel. Coincidentally, both Patel and Hrithik made their Bollywood debuts with this film 25 years ago. To commemorate this milestone, the film was recently re-released in theatres. While it catapulted both actors to stardom, Ameesha was not the initial choice for the role; Kareena was offered the part first and reportedly shot some sequences.

Ameesha Patel on replacing Kareena Kapoor Khan left Kaho Naa…Pyaar Hai

At the time, Kareena Kapoor expressed that Rakesh Roshan dedicated more attention to Hrithik’s scenes, stating that Ameesha Patel’s frames were often overlooked, affecting her on-screen appearance. She reflected on this, mentioning that she was relieved to have opted out of the film. Despite her concerns, Kaho Naa…Pyaar Hai became a significant success for Ameesha, emerging as one of the highest-grossing films of 2000.

In an exclusive interview with News18 Showsha, Ameesha Patel addressed the narrative of Kareena’s loss being her gain, saying, “I think Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai was a gain for all the people involved in it. She’s gained a lot independently, and I’ve gained a lot independently. So, I don’t think we should go into equations.”

In a previous interview with Filmfare, Kareena claimed that the film was tailored specifically for Hrithik. It highlights how much time Rakesh Roshan spent on his son’s scenes compared to Ameesha’s. She remarked, “There are portions in the film where she has pimples and under-eye bags… If I were in the film, I would have definitely got a better deal. But I still feel that the attention would have been divided between us. So, I’m glad I didn’t do the film.”
